Well not too long ago, the wonderful governor of my home state stooped to a whole new low.  In reference to the many people who have complained about the $52 billion increase in their gas taxes and hiked car registration fees, Governor Jerry Brown of California argues that road repairs don't come for free.  True enough.  However, he and his supporters go on to insinuate that these people want to continue using California's highways without paying for them, making them good-for-nothing "freeloaders."

Here's the thing, though...

The Democrats in Sacramento have gotten WAY more than enough money to pay for all the road repairs that have been desperately needed for the past two decades.  That whole time, the issue was supposed to be addressed using the revenues gained from gas taxes and car registration fees.  Yet time and time again, those wonderful Democrats took that money, like so many other earmarked tax funds, and somehow managed to put it into the general fund to spend on what THEY wanted, namely increased welfare and various pet projects like the now famous "train to nowhere."

Also, consider the fact that Mr. Brown is a career politician, so he's been living at other people's expense since 1969 (that's when his political career started).  He is a person who spends money that is not his in obscene quantities while essentially being paid by the people whose money he's spending.  So, when California's cost of living is currently among the highest in the nation (thanks to policies passed by Brown and his cronies), Californians are already the most taxed people in the United States (if New Yorkers are not), and our roads have been crumbling for years because the money that SHOULD have been spent on them was spent elsewhere, is it any surprise that the taxpayers are going to be upset when they are expected to fork over yet MORE money only to get more of the same?

And to think, the governor has the gall to refer to the hard-working taxpayers, who annually find it increasingly harder to afford living here thanks to him and his party, as the freeloaders--and his fellow bloodsuckers no doubt agree with him.

Oh, and in case you're wondering why there's nothing from Left-leaning sources, here's why (believe me I tried finding an article from the NY Times and LA Times to see what their take was--I found nothing):

The only article I found in favor of Brown and his taxes was this, but it fell into the same logical pothole that Brown has driven into:
